Seesmic Desktop vs. TweetDeck – The Month Long Showdown

Seesmic Desktop (formally Twhirl) has been making a lot of noise in the Twitter desktop application arena by adding features that compete directly with TweetDeck. I really liked Twhirl and it’s ability to manage multiple accounts in one area, but TweetDeck really has helped me organize, manage and keep up with the ongoing’s of Twitter. With each software package one upping the other, I decided to compare each one by making them a part of my Twitter life two weeks at a time. Since Monday, I’ll be using Seesmic for two weeks and detail my likes, dislikes at the end of my testing period, then I’ll repeat the same for TweetDeck and compare the two when it’s all said and done.
As I begin this experiment, I would like to know which application to you use and why? Which do you like best? What feature do you enjoy the most?
It’d be really cool if within this month one of em busts out with a new feature that lopsides the competition.
Ok, for me, as of May 6th. I go with tweetdeck. For me, ease of use and practicality of use is better than multiple acct management tools. we shall see.
Oh, and I vote Thumbs down for twibes, and thumbs up for wefollow.
I use Tweetdeck. I love the groups, in addition to my search columns that I run and modify for the things that matter to me.
@Doubledown You know that’s what I’m thinking and expecting at the end of the four weeks I’m going to review any new stuff, and post about it.
I just switched to Seesmic a couple of days ago after using Tweetdeck a short time, and Twhirl for quite a while. I really like Seesmic so far. Really easy to create user categories and add users.
Cheers!
I use Tweetie on OSX and iPhone, which is perhaps the most beautiful app I’ve used ever! Too bad it isn’t available for PCs.
